Stolen Lines 8.1

There was a time, many moons again when my friend Grace of Law With Grace hosted something called Stolen Lines. A single line would be plucked from a book and shared on the blog – readers and writers would take the line, start a post with it and write whatever they pleased. They ended the post with the statement “This line was stolen from ____” and linked back on Law With Grace. In an attempt to get back into blogging, she has asked me to host the eighth round of Stolen Lines. This is a writing experiment open to all, so here goes nothing (and please feel free to join in)…. Begin your post with:

After hanging up the phone, I stood for awhile looking out my window and wondering if I should have told him no.

End your post with “I stole this line from page 220 of Rules of Civility by Amor Towles” You can find Grace’s stolen lines of times past here, and one of my posts in response to the line here….

The widget to share your post is below (click to add it). Happy writing!
